Sangre de Muerdago is the brainchild of Pablo, creative musician previously known to have been part of many crust bands such as Ekkaia, Leadershit, Cop on Fire and nowadays drummer for Ursus, born from the need to abandon the civilized world and rediscover the traditional sounds of his lands, whose origins are lost in the distant past of the Celtic culture. Echoes of some nordic folk (it’s impossible not to refer to ULVER’s Kveldssanger) blended with traditional Galician music come out from these nine songs; In fact, many traditional instruments join the classical guitar and the twelve-string guitar, perfectly sealing the runic power hidden on the trees of those uncontaminated lands.

Antlers - A Gaze Into The Abyss LP

ANTLERS is a new band from Leipzig but the folks behind this outfit are not Germans, they are from Spain and Catalonia. The members, played in such renowned acts like EKKAIA, COP ON FIRE or SANGRE DE MUERDAGO (which are still active). They proof that punks can play black metal. The music ranges from atmospheric midtempo black metal towards the fast stuff. Due to the highly left wing political background of their ex-bands it seems to be sure, that ANTLERS is another bm-band which is cool (aka antifascist) plus their music sounds fucking awesome. 

Embers - Shadows 2xLP

It’s hard to define the music style of these guys… Coming from the hardcore punk/crust scene -Kelly and Steve were members of Lesser of Two-, Oakland, CA based Embers play skillfully with elements of Black metal, Doom and Crust with a catchy and original taste. Imagine Ludicra and Remains of the Day dining and jamming with Emperor in the depths of a crypt, and you would be close to comprehending the result. It is perhaps the massive use of keyboards, which give an aura of gloomy atmosphere to the whole recording, without disturbing or overpowering the frequent epic guitar duels. Every element, be it the guitar riffing (obscure and melodic, using tremolo-picking), the complex rhythm section (sometimes furiously blasting, sometimes heavy pounding) or the masterly interplay between the two voices (the grim vocal of Kelly and the growl of Timm), blends to perfection. In the end, their style is unique, try to believe it.
