In summer 2010 ex-members from „Allegorie“, Dancing on Debris“, „Jack the Rocker“ and „Kings of the Day“ got together with the aim to create spheric musical landscapes. The music wants to take the audience on a turbulent journey somewhere between ambient and postrock and sometimes you can guess their musical roots found in punk/hardcore.

Alaskan - Despair, Erosion, Loss LP (3. Versions)
Pressing Details: 200x yellow/brown mixed Vinyl, 200x black/white Vinyl, 600x black Vinyl I came across Alaskan because of their affiliation with other Ottawa post metal / sludge bands. Let’s face it: many similar bands have arisen on the Ottawa metal scene in the last few years: Buried Inside, Goetia, Biipiigwan, Collider, etc. Not so far away, whether you are in Montreal or in Toronto, dozens of other bands can be added to that list. The genre established by AmenRa, Fall Of Efrafa, Neurosis, Isis or Cult of Luna is now a saturated market, but I think Alaskan stands on top of the most recent bands food chain. The quality of their music and their dedication help the guys from Alaskan stand out of the crowd. They are in a kind of Cult of Luna-esque dark mood, with almost simple guitar chords that create this loud wall of sound you expect from such a band. Alaskan went epic on most of their songs: they added atmospheric passages and intro, in proportions that help blending the songs together and bringing the listener throughout their livesets without any difficulty. For any three-piece band, there’s always a challenge about song structure, because of the absence of a lead guitar or additional instruments. Alaskan masters perfectly this, and while you can hear perfectly every instrument on the album, you don’t have the impression that something is missing. “Noises” were added here and there in the background, and this aspect of the production makes me want to go back to the album from time to time just for its “layers” quality. Another thing that I mentioned previously is the musician’s dedication to their band. They are serious in their approach, and have one new release every year. Moreover, they have followed the steps of fellows Buried Inside and toured intensively abroad. Live, Alaskan delivers a solid performance and the live set lives to its promises. While I agree that Alaskan might not be 100% original, I didn’t expect an experimental band either. The band knows how to compose songs that “feels” dark and heavy, and they can easily compare with other bands like Amen Ra. So listen to your friend: Alaskan is without a doubt worth to check out.

Baestien - Ritual LP (2.Versions)
Pressing Details: 150x limited color + 350x black 180gram Vinyl, Gatefoldcover, Download CodeDefining a new sense of heaviness and musical introspection with their sound, the czech doom/crust metal band have created another work of epic wonders. Darker and more bleak than anything the band have previously released, BAESTIEN strip their sound down a bit, while at the same time building on something atmospherically colossal and vast. The sounds of barren, desolate wastelands where the search for hope lies distant… but not entirely non-existent.On one side its dark and atmospheric but on the other, the brutal d-beat riffs crush you into a pulp! Amazing album!

Baestien - Uroboros LP (lim. 2 Press)
Color: Lim. colored Vinyl
Pressing Details: 250x limited clear with gold, LP-sized Insert Baestien is a Czech post metal & crust band with strong political hardcore punk roots from Sokolov/Cheb. Formed in 2016 from the ashes of Albion, Le Bain de Maid and Herese. what you get is some intense and heavy stuff. I tend to put these guys in the same sorta bracket as the likes of, Fall Of Efrafa, Neurosis or Cult of Luna or bands like that however there is a far more hardcore element highly prevelant in their music and the sheer heaviness of the band will bring them many fans from who like heavy and beautifull aranged music. This is dark and heavy and at times epic!

Battle Path - Empiric LP (3 Versions
Pressing Details: 100x grey Vinyl, 100x red Vinyl, 300x black Vinyl, 180gram Vinyl, printed innersleeve A recent release out of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Battle Path play an amalgamation of various extreme metal subgenres. As evidence by the shrieks, moody atmosphere and fast-picked buzzing, the overarching influence is black metal, but the band gives so much attention to other influences that this EP has something for every metal fan, unless continuity is your thing. Mesmerizing and pounding, the opening track fits right in with the current state of non-traditional black metal; swirling tremolo riffs mix with slightly punkish drums to create a landscape over which vocalist Todd Harris can unleash his piercing rasps. And just when you find yourself in the abysmal groove of what the band offers, they quickly dive into a doomed breakdown that transitions into atonal explosions.

Behind Enemy Lines - One Nation Under The Iron Fist Of God LP
This is the anthemic follow-up to BEHIND ENEMY LINES’ brilliant first two albums. This contains the ferocious sound of their previous efforts along with a powerful Scandi-crust machine-gun-like punch and of course the scathing, hyper-political lyrics that aren't afraid to name names and list addresses for those responsible for fucking over the world. In addition to the normal CD jewel case and packaging, this package includes a separate perfect-bound, 64-page book with the lengthy lyrics, dozens of political posters and additional artwork. If you do not already know BEHIND ENEMY LINES then you are missing some of the most intense, anti-authoritiarian punk rock of our ages! BEHIND ENEMY LINES is made up by veteran members of some of the most influential American hardcore/punk bands of the last decade (AUS-ROTTEN, REACT, PIST, CAUSTIC CHRIST, etc.).

Black Shape Of Nexus / Lazarus Blackstar - Split (3 Versions)
Pressing Details: 100x grey Vinyl, 100x white Vinyl + 300x black Vinyl. All LPs in 180gram, inlay, heavy coverjacket and obistrip For this eagerly-awaited Split LP, the North-West of England meths the North-West of German as two storming merchants of doom crash headlong into each other for half-an-hour of immersive Sturm und Drang. From an early pressurized melting pot where Bradford and Liverpool´s Lazarus Blackstar crust-coated doom and blackened death-drone brews inside a morphing structure, the record steadily winds up the tempo until Mannheim sexted Black Shape Of Nexus take over and begin to introduce experimental layers of feedback and replace grit with groove. It all adds up to a wonderfully wretched experience that aims to bury you deep beneath six-feet of stinking, blackened soil. Setting off through the sludge and buzz-heavy riffing of Lazarus Blackstar’s “Command and Control”, Mik Hell’s growl and dissonant rage pitch us downwards until they find their spiritual nadir in a ponderous hole where two sets of layered vocals tear lumps out of each other upon a bedrock of whining drone. From here they dust themselves off and settle into the patchwork quilt of sections that form “Whispering Through Broken Teeth”. Reminiscent of St. Vitus and, to a point, Eyehategod there is also a moment where, disconcertingly, it all begins to sound a bit like a slowed-down Iron Maiden tape. Walking you through, we’ve got an introductory riff that cuts abrasively into a rumbling verse, before heading down to half-time for the chorus and then out into a displaced, yet memorably upbeat riff. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum. Experimenting with much more success, B.SON tug at their Neurosis chain and flush out a tongue-in-cheek offering to the Gods of doom. The 11-minute “Honor Found In Delay”, littered with psychedelic hits of feedback and noisy electronica, gets you deep in the gut with a thunderous, soul-shaking series of chords. The construction is much more organic here and stands in direct opposition to Lazarus Blackstar’s harsh segues. When they find their chug-friendly two-note doom boots they stomp about in them like pigs in muck with Malte Seidel screaming blue murder from, what sounds like, the other side of the street. Best of all, closer “Always And Only” spends its entire 9-minute length revelling in the joys that a simple-spined, steadily evolving, quality tongue-and-groove doom song can supply. And who better than George Orwell to provide the LP’s morbid epitaph? His soundbite taken from the BBC Series “The Life Of Orwell” plays this intriguingly miserablist LP out – “If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face… forever”.

Dead To A Dying World - Reprise 2xLP
Pressing Details: European Pressing: clear with golden swirl and black splatter, black vinyl, download codeWe are pleased to re-introduce "Reprise" - a remix, remaster, and reimagining of our 2011 self-titled album, featuring remix by Billy Anderson and additional unreleased cover of Leonard Cohen's "Dance Me To the End of Love". Rather than simply repress the long out-of-print self-titled album, they wanted to revisit the material and present it in a way the band believes it was meant to be. With Billy Anderson at the helm once more, these songs breathe new life into the original material just as they had when they were written. Many thanks to their friends who made this record such a meaningful origin in so many ways.
